Broome County Executive To Evaluate Cell Phone Service Provided ...

Broome County Executive Patrick Brennan is again reviewing services provided to employees; this time it?s mobile telephones and other mobile communication devices.? As with the vehicle take home privileges he also turned in his County owned cell phone and directed the Deputy Executives to do the same.? Currently, there are more than 200 County owned mobile communication devices.?County Executive?Brennan has ordered an evaluation of the number of county provided devices, productivity measurement, the cost of each, and the job duties of the individual assigned the devices.? Brennan said that they are spending a lot of money on wireless devices and mobile connectivity to the internet and email and wants to make sure that these expenses are justified when compared with the job duties of the employee to whom the device is assigned.? He also added that by reducing the number of cell phones, they can get closer to reaching their goal.
